Even though National Preparedness Month is not under Civil Defense, but is now FEMA. I feel that it is still important to address todays threat of terrorism and etc... Originally, before FEMA, Civil Defense had its own kind of National Preparedness Month. It was then called National Civil Defense Week which, was held in the second week of September. Even though we are not exposed to the same kind of preparedness propaganda of the 50's and 60's, PREPAREDNESS IS STILL IMPORTANT!!! With today's threat of weapons of mass destruction, anthrax, and more severe weather. We need to learn about the threats and what we can do to survive them. That is why I, the webmaster have decided to feature National Preparedness Month. Please get involved and become more aware of the threats. It's your Duty!!!
