In a short story I've been interested in Civil Defense since I was in pre-school. I used to sing a song about Thunderbolt sirens that went to the tune of "ring around the rosie." In third grade I read a series of books called "Molly an American Girl,"which is about life on the WWII home front, and I wanted to build an air raid shelter in the backyard (now it's a fallout shelter in the basement) and put up black out curtains up in the windows. Last year I learned about Civil Defense of the Cold War, and made a connection to all my past experiences.I've devoted this site to my Civil Defense findings.
